Introduction

Saber offers your business the ability to onramp and offramp with ease. Whether it's purchasing an NFT, gaming, cross-border payments or an exchange, Saber can help your users get into the world of crypto.

Before starting

  2. To start interacting with the APIs and SDK provided by Saber, a merchant must set up the authentication token. Read more here
  3. Register your users (i.e. the merchant's users) with Saber. Read more here

Onramp

There are two offerings in terms of how a client can onramp once the client has deposited fiat with Saber

  1. Pool Wallet: The merchant can opt for on ramping the crypto assets to a pooled wallet held with Saber Money. Funds will be transferred to an internal Saber pool wallet belonging to the Merchant without gas fees.
  2. External wallet: The merchant can onramp the crypto assets to an external wallet by making a network call to transfer the crypto to an address specified by you - here gas fees are incurred.

The list of supported currencies, tokens and networks is mentioned here.

Offramp

Saber's offramp stack is simple. Two scenarios can appear:

  1. The merchant transfers crypto to a Saber wallet: In this case, the merchant transfers crypto to a Saber wallet. This involves a network call and gas fees which will be incurred by the merchant.
  2. The merchant has a Saber Pool wallet: In this case, the merchant can initiate the transfer of crypto to the user's Saber wallet (each registered user of the merchant gets assigned a Saber wallet) from their Saber Pool wallet (can be created on request). As this is an internal transfer, there will be no gas fee.

Once Saber receives the crypto, the merchant can initiate an offramp transaction.

KYC

Saber Money also offers KYC services to keep your users in line with the local jurisdictions and compliance requirements. There are two KYC offerings:

  1. KYC through Saber Money SDK: The merchant can opt for KYC through our SDK. We work with industry-standard partners who allow users to complete KYC based on local compliance requirements.
  2. KYC Sharing: In cases where the merchant has already completed KYC for their users, the same can be shared in the form of an encrypted token to ensure a seamless user experience by avoiding multiple KYC steps. This can be done in two ways:
    1. Through KYC Sharing APIs: The user's KYC details can be shared through Saber Money APIs in encrypted form.
    2. Through Tri-party Agreement: If working with supported partners, a tri-party agreement can be set in place between Saber Money, the merchant, and the KYC provided to provide a seamless flow of KYC information.
